Farewell Pavilion

The Farewell Pavilion is located by the Wushui River in front of Furong Tower. Its pillars bear a couplet that reads, “Famous blossoms inspire poetic lines; cold rains once saw off guests’ boats,” composed by Wang Gao, a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty. It is said that this pavilion was where Wang Changling bid farewell to his friend Xin Jian. The open space beside the pavilion is called the Farewell Terrace. Qiancheng Town: Qiancheng Town is situated in the southwestern part of Hongjiang City and currently serves as the seat of the new Hongjiang municipal government and the location of its administrative center. With a long history, Qiancheng has been the county seat since the early Western Han Dynasty until 1949. In 1998, Qianyang County and Hongjiang City merged to form the new Hongjiang City, with the new municipal government based in Qiancheng Town. In December 2004, the new Hongjiang municipal government relocated to Qiancheng Town, and by 2012 all government units had moved there.
