Eastern Industrial Park: To implement the strategy of connecting with Changsha to the east and catching up through later development, the Yiyang Municipal Committee and Municipal Government planned and established the Eastern Industrial Park of Yiyang High-Tech Zone in November 2008, covering an area of 165 square kilometers at the border between Heshan District of Yiyang and Ningxiang County of Changsha. It is positioned as a pilot demonstration zone for the construction of a “Two-Oriented Society” within the Chang-Zhu-Tan national urban agglomeration, a key destination for the gradient transfer of coastal processing and trade industries, a provincial-level demonstration zone for integrated urban-rural development, and a bridgehead for Yiyang’s economic connection with the provincial capital, Changsha.
