Taiping Mountain Temple Ruins

The Taiping Mountain Temple Ruins are a cultural relic protection unit of Hunan Province.

The Taiping Mountain Temple Ruins date back to the Qing Dynasty and are located in Tongche Township, Longshan County, Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture.

In March 2019, the Taiping Mountain Temple Ruins were included in the tenth batch of Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Tongche Township: Tongche Township is located 23 kilometers northwest of the county seat. It borders Da’an Township and Ciyatang Town to the east, Sanyuan Township and Shigao Town to the west, and Shipai Township to the north. During the Qing Dynasty, it was part of Baiyan Li; during the Republican era, it was part of Baiyan Township; after liberation, it was renamed Tongche Township; in 1958, it became the Tongche Management Area of Chengjiao Commune; in 1961, it was established as Tongche Commune; and in 1984, the commune was abolished and the township was re-established. It covers a total area of 68 square kilometers, with 657 hectares of paddy fields, 368 hectares of dry land, and 2,165 hectares of forest.
