Tomb Cluster

Located in Balingshan Town, Jingzhou City, the area spans around 40 square kilometers. Balingshan was historically known as "Dragon Mountain" and also called Bao Mountain. It preserves over 400 burial mounds, primarily from the Chu Kingdom, along with a small number of Ming Dynasty princely tombs. (First Batch)

Balingshan Town: Balingshan Town is situated about 10 kilometers west of Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, nestled among three ancient cities — the historic Jingzhou, ancient Ji'nan, and ancient Wancheng. The town covers a total area of 114 square kilometers, with 55,400 mu of arable land, 18,000 mu of hilly terrain, and has jurisdiction over 18 villages, 3 farms, and 1 neighborhood committee, with a population of 35,000. The area enjoys convenient transportation, with a paved road connecting Jingzhou to the Tomb of Prince Liao leading directly into the town. To the south, it borders National Highway 318, while to the east it is adjacent to National Highway 207. The provincial Yihuang Expressway runs through the region and includes an exit at Balingshan.
