Jibei City Ruins

The Jibei City Ruins are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Jibei City Ruins, located in Jicheng Village, Jicheng Town, northeast of Zhengzhou, were initially excavated to uncover city walls dating back to the Western Zhou and Spring and Autumn periods. The walls stretch 1,260 meters from north to south and 780 meters from east to west, covering an area of approximately 980,000 square meters. The walls are 15 meters wide and 4–5 meters high, built from rammed yellow earth. Historical records indicate that this was the fief of Ji Bo, the fifth son of the Duke of Zhou during the Western Zhou Dynasty, and later the city was incorporated into the State of Zheng, becoming the estate of Jizhong, a senior official of Zheng.
