Free to play in a 1,000-square-meter water area—Hualien’s must-visit “Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park”!

Hualien is buzzing this summer vacation season !Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park, located in Ji’an Township, has built facilities such as waterslides, lazy rivers, and mazes across its 19-hectare site, combining greenery with water fun. The park aims to let both domestic and international visitors enjoy themselves to the fullest during their holiday—and it’s now open to the public free of charge.
Just a 10-minute-plus drive from downtown, the “Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park” spans 19 hectares. The site was formerly an air force base and nursery. Hualien County Government has transformed part of the area into a 4,000-square-meter water play zone. Popular attractions include a two-story, 14-meter-long waterslide and a 70-meter-long lazy river. Nearby, there's also a rainbow fountain and wave pool, allowing visitors to fully enjoy splashing around on hot summer days.

The water play area is open in two time slots: 9:00 AM to 11:50 AM, and 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Aside from water activities, visitors can also find other forms of entertainment within the park, such as a small circular maze made with plants—taking about 10 minutes to walk through—and an ice-skating rink featuring 3D landscape paintings with penguin designs. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own skates and knee pads.

Surrounded by vast greenery, the Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park also features shaded walking trails set up by the county government, allowing visitors to stroll among the trees and enjoy the freshness of phytoncides. The Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park is open to the public year-round free of charge. While the water play area is only accessible during specified time slots, the park itself is open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
