The Dajia Inclusive Playground, which opened in April (2017), has quickly become a popular sand play destination for families thanks to its large sandy area. The Taipei City Government’s Department of Rapid Transit Systems has now announced that, starting today, a children’s water play area will also be opened. From June, water will be sprayed every Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. During the peak summer months of July and August, the number of spraying sessions will increase to three per day. Families can visit Dajia Riverside Park to enjoy sand play, water activities, and slides together.
Dajia Riverside Park offers a vast square and green spaces, making it ideal for cycling, skateboarding, rollerblading, and other activities. It has long been a popular spot for parents to bring their kids for safe outdoor fun. The water play area features playful and adorable water facilities shaped like giant circles, bamboo dragonflies, and huge flowers. Meanwhile, the sandbox includes tools such as excavators, sand tables, slides, climbing walls, and climbing nets, ensuring endless fun for children. Adults can relax at the light meal area under the membrane canopy, ordering a coffee to enjoy a leisurely family time.
Besides the water play area at Dajia Riverside Park, the Guandu Ferry Square also features a landscaped dry fountain, which began operating in June. From June and September, it is open every Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 8 pm, while in July and August, it is open every evening from 5 to 8 pm. The landscaped dry fountain has 26 nozzles, accompanied by colorful LED lighting effects. Although it is intended for visual enjoyment and not for entering, watching the water dance along with the light changes adds a cool and romantic atmosphere to the night.
