Since the water play area was created in 2015, “Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park” has quickly become an extremely popular family-friendly destination in Hualien during the summer. Coupled with the original facilities such as water slides, lazy rivers, and mazes, it’s definitely a great place to cool off on summer holidays.

Zhikaxuan in Hualien is just opposite the Ji’an Township Motor Vehicle Office. It takes less than 10 minutes to drive there from Hualien Railway Station.
The most fun water play area at Zhikaxuan is on the right-hand side as you enter the park.
There’s a large dragonfly installation art piece and little windmills here.
So many people!! Because it’s free, there are almost always crowds during the summer vacation.
The water play area is huge — this slide facility is perfect for toddlers, and there’s also a rainbow water tunnel nearby.
Super timid Niuniu loves to play but also screams a lot!!
Going further inside, you’ll find Niu Jie’s favorite 360-degree spinning water slide.
The 360-degree spinning water slide is about 64 meters long and 8 meters high, looking very thrilling. The height restriction is 120 cm, and Niu Jie played it over and over and didn’t want to leave.
Then Niu Jie took Niuniu to play on this water slide together.
While waiting to slide down, water keeps dripping on your head. We captured this hilarious look on Niuniu’s face.
This place is simply Niu Jie’s paradise — she ran off by herself to play in the ocean wave pool.
This wave pool is similar to the Marlboro Bay at Lihpao Land in Taichung, but it’s a mini version. There’s a height requirement for the wave pool — you must be at least 100 cm tall to play.
Niuniu happily splashed around.
Because the shower area was too crowded, we dried off, put our clothes back on, and planned to take a shower at the hotel.
Niuniu was so reluctant to leave.
“Zhikaxuan Green Forest Water Park” is a super popular spot in Hualien and admission is free. Make time to visit Hualien soon.
