Located 15 kilometers west of Xin’an County, head south from Tiemen Town and travel 3 kilometers upstream along the Yumei River to find a solemn ancient temple with majestic halls, towering ancient cypresses, and high-standing stone tablets. Its ethereal charm beckons you to explore its serene beauty. This is the main structure of Dongzhen Temple, built during the Dade era of the Yuan Dynasty. The principal buildings include the Hall of the Three Pure Ones, the Hall of the Three Officials, and the Shrine of the Holy Mother. This was a sacred site for imperial Buddhist practice during the Yuan Dynasty and enjoyed great prestige at the time. Visitors can admire numerous inscriptions by famous scholars as well as imperial stelae from Yuan emperors. South of Dongzhen Temple, halfway up Lanke Mountain, there is a natural cave called Wangqiao Fairy Cave, said to be the place where Wangqiao transformed into an immortal.

Scenic spots such as Dongzhen Temple, the Hall of the Three Pure Ones, ancient cypresses, and Wangqiao Cave contribute to the unique tranquility and beauty of Lanke Mountain. At the foot of the mountain, springs gush forth with crystal-clear, sweet-tasting water that sparkles like pearls and jade. Experts have identified it as the rare “Fragrant Pearl Spring” found in few places across China.
