The press conference for the First China Hong’an Hot Air Balloon Challenge and the “Green Countryside, Beautiful Hong’an” Aerial Photography Grand Prix was held at the Li Xiannian Memorial Park in Gaoqiao Town on August 12. Leaders from the four major bodies of Hong’an County, including Party Secretary Yu Xuewu and County Governor Tian Shenghui, as well as heads of various county-level departments, attended the press conference.
Tian Shenghui, Deputy Secretary of the Hong’an County Party Committee and County Governor, delivered the opening remarks. Ding Hongbo, Director of the Hong’an County Sports Bureau, introduced the event schedule. Huang Baoguo, from Hunan Qingyi Jiayuan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., the title sponsor of the event, gave a speech. Zhu Qingchen, Chairman of Beijing Xin Chuanbo Institution, the event organizer, provided information about hot air balloons and answered questions from the media. Later, the attending media experienced a tethered hot air balloon test flight at the memorial park.
The China Hong’an Hot Air Balloon Challenge and the “Green Countryside, Beautiful Hong’an” Aerial Photography Grand Prix will be held from October 25 to October 29 this year in Hong’an. This H1-level hot air balloon challenge has been approved by the General Administration of Sport of China and is jointly organized by the Hong’an County Government of Huanggang City, Hubei Province, and the Aero Sports Federation of China, with support from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Hubei People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and other organizations. This marks the first time Hubei has hosted a national top-tier aviation sports competition. Approximately 200 participants from 30 teams across the country are expected to attend. During the event, in addition to hot air balloon flying experiences, powered trike flight performances, and powered parachute shows, there will also be night-time hot air balloon fire-spouting parades and night-time tethered balloon displays as part of the celebration activities. Through the novel format of hot air balloons soaring over this old revolutionary base area and the unique aerial perspective, the event aims to document the natural scenery and cultural landscapes of this former revolutionary region today.
