Luoyang Riverside Park

To build a leisure and ecological economic belt along the Luo River; raise the flood control standard of the urban section of the Luo River from a 20-year to a 50-year level, fundamentally addressing the river’s flooding issues and turning water hazards into water resources; create an ecological waterway corridor to provide residents with leisure and fitness spaces; through the management of the urban section of the Luo River, drive real estate economic development and attract major projects; accelerate land transfer and large-scale operation on both banks of the Luo River, develop sightseeing agriculture, and promote the integrated implementation of structural adjustment, land transfer, and eco-tourism. Based on these five objectives, a 25-kilometer-long riverside park project with a total investment of 1.05 billion yuan was carried out. The project stretches from Lingshan in the west to the Luoyang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in the east, and is being implemented in four phases. It includes the construction of an 8-tier rubber dam system, 11,565 acres of water surface, a water storage capacity of 18.34 million cubic meters (equivalent to two medium-sized reservoirs), and a 3,400-acre green space as part of the Luo River Riverside Park landscape belt.
