Mao Zedong's Inspection Memorial Hall in Xiangcheng is an important exhibition venue built to commemorate Chairman Mao Zedong’s inspection of tobacco fields in Sanligou Brigade on August 7, 1958. Constructed in 1968 and expanded in 1978, the memorial bears plaques inscribed by the former Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Committee and the former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. The memorial is 40 meters long from east to west and 30 meters wide from north to south, enclosed by a brick wall with lush pines and cypresses. In front of the exhibition room stands a statue of Chairman Mao holding a straw hat and with his shirt tied at the waist, vividly recreating his vigorous image during the inspection that brought radiance to the land. The main exhibition room consists of three bays facing west, while there are three bays each in the side rooms to the north and south. Exhibits include multiple photos of Chairman Mao during the inspection, as well as tea sets, tables, and chairs he used. Ten meters behind the exhibition rooms, a hexagonal pavilion with a round ridge and glazed tiles has been built over a well, featuring an exquisite and delicate design.
