The splendid Huangpu River meets the magnificent Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. On September 22, the Yecheng Walnut Guinness World Record Certification and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway (Yecheng–Ali) Tourism Promotion Event were successfully held in Shanghai. The event was jointly organized by the People’s Government of Yecheng County and the Yecheng Sub-bureau of the Shanghai Xinjiang Aid Command, co-organized by the Ali Region Tourism Development Bureau and the Shanghai Baoshan District Education Bureau, and hosted by the Xinjiang Tourism Shanghai Promotion Service Center and Shanghai Travel Network Travel Service Co., Ltd.

As an important event promoting tourism among Shanghai, Yecheng, and Ali, the promotion also featured two photography competitions: the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway Photography Competition Award Ceremony and the Huangpu River Youth Photography Competition. With culture at its core and tourism as its driving force, the events enhanced the cultural and tourism value of the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway and Shanghai, while also showcasing to the public the stability, unity, and unique charm of Yecheng and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway.

The leaders and guests present at the promotion included: Zhang Bin, Secretary of the Party Group of the Baoshan District Commerce Commission of Shanghai, Deputy Commander of the Yecheng Sub-bureau of the Shanghai Xinjiang Aid Command, Standing Committee Member of the Yecheng County Party Committee, and Deputy County Head; Jinmei Wangjiu, Director of the Ali Region Tourism Development Bureau; Li Ping, Head of the Shanghai Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Center; Hou Jinliang, Secretary of the Party Group of the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Zhu Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee for Education Work at the Baoshan District Education Bureau of Shanghai; Zhang Zhonghe, Secretary of the Party Group of the Yecheng County Culture, Sports, Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau; Yang Yuliang, Deputy Director of the Yecheng County Audit Bureau and a Shanghai Xinjiang Aid Cadre; Zhao Fengyu, General Manager of the Xinjiang Tourism Shanghai Promotion Service Center and Shanghai Travel Network Travel Service Co., Ltd. Also present were representatives of Baoshan student families, travel enthusiasts, Xinjiang-Tibet Highway tourists, outdoor clubs, and travel agencies, all witnessing this significant moment together.

Yecheng Walnuts Win Prestigious Honor

In the golden autumn of September, during this harvest season, Yecheng was awarded two Guinness World Records: “The Ancient Walnut Orchard (Thin-shelled Walnuts) with the Longest Average Tree Age – China · Yecheng County, Xinjiang ‘Seven Immortals Walnut Garden’” and “The Largest Ancient Walnut (Thin-shelled Walnut) Tree – China · Yecheng County, Xinjiang ‘Seven Immortals Walnut Garden’ ‘Fu’ Tree.” Through the official certification of Yecheng walnuts, the region has established a unique and premium brand image. This also pioneers a new model of Shanghai’s industrial and tourism aid to Xinjiang, helping promote Yecheng walnuts to the Yangtze River Delta region and even the national market.

Insights from the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway, Expert Sharing

During the event, Mr. Sun Liang, head of Xinjiang Aike Captain Travel Development Co., Ltd., gave a comprehensive introduction to the tourism resources, supporting facilities and services, folk culture, transportation, and cuisine of Yecheng and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. Meanwhile, travel enthusiasts Shanghai Cold Air and jennynui, as well as photographer representative Tang Chun, shared their unforgettable travel experiences along the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. The audience was deeply moved by the charm of the sacred mountain sky road and ethnic customs.

Two Regions Collaborate, Stunning Works Emerge

In July this year, the Yecheng County Culture, Sports, Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau organized a “Most Beautiful Starry Sky Journey” and photography competition along the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. Photographers captured stunning works on the plateau with their cameras. On this occasion, the organizers awarded prizes to the winning photographers.

Meanwhile, the Huangpu River Youth Photography Competition is in full swing. Children in Shanghai have stepped out of their homes to capture the beautiful scenery along both banks of the Huangpu River.

As the colored sand slowly flowed down the launch platform, it symbolized the continuation and connection between the two photography competitions. Zhu Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee for Education Work at the Baoshan District Education Bureau of Shanghai, called on the students present: “Read ten thousand books and travel ten thousand miles.” Not only should they use their lenses to record the beauty of their hometowns, but they should also take the opportunity to visit Xinjiang and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway to discover the great landscapes of their motherland.

Cooperation Signing, Joint Development

Taking advantage of this event, the People’s Government of Yecheng County and Tibet Tourism Co., Ltd. signed strategic agreements for tourism industry development with Shanghai Travel Network Travel Service Co., Ltd., respectively. As the Xinjiang Tourism Shanghai Promotion Service Center, Shanghai Travel Network has long been committed to the tourism development and marketing of Yecheng and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. Following this signing, Shanghai Travel Network will expand resource integration in the tourism industry, build bridges among the three regions, and contribute ideas and strategies for the tourism development of Yecheng, Ali, and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway.

At the same time, the Yecheng County Culture, Sports, Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau, along with Yecheng tourism enterprises, well-known Shanghai travel agencies, and outdoor clubs, successfully signed a framework agreement for cooperation in Yecheng’s “Specialty Tourism” industry. The Tibet Ali Region Tourism Company and well-known Shanghai travel agencies also signed an agreement for tourism cooperation and development in the Ali Region. All parties will jointly develop tourism route products centered around the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway and covering surrounding areas, creating regular tourism products along the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway, and attracting more tourists to Yecheng, Ali, and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway. This marks the beginning of a new chapter of joint progress and mutual trust.
