Biyang Lingyun Temple

Biyang Lingyun Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Lingyun Temple (also known as Huashan Grandma Temple) is located on the summit of Huashan Mountain, north of Yangcun Town in Biyang County. It features a brick pagoda and several stone stelae, built to commemorate a virtuous woman.

Legend has it that during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, there was a village at the foot of Huashan Mountain where, during busy farming seasons, villagers had no time to care for their young children, leading to frequent drowning incidents in the nearby Huashan Reservoir. Upon learning of this, Huashan Grandma came down from the mountain and drew a large circle around a tree in the village. Every day, she led all the children of the village to play safely within the circle, relieving the villagers’ worries.
