The Zhou Yansheng Art Research Institute is located south of Liyuanzhou Village, Zhai Zhuang Subdistrict, Zhaoling District, Luohe City, Henan Province, covering an area of 100 acres. It houses one comprehensive teaching building, one faculty creation building, one Zhou Yansheng creation building, one painting theory research building, one freehand and meticulous painting research building, and one international exchange exhibition hall.

Zhou Yansheng, a professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, is a master's degree supervisor, a member of the China Artists Association, a councilor of the China Contemporary Meticulous Painting Society, a councilor of the Guangdong Artists Association, a specially appointed painter at the Guangdong Painting Academy, and a researcher at the Guangdong Provincial Academy of Cultural History. In 2002, he was named one of the Top Ten Contemporary Chinese Painting Masters in Guangdong. His works have won multiple awards in the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th National Art Exhibitions. Artistically, he admires Zhao Ji, Ren Bonian, and Yu Fei’an, and has devoted himself to the study of traditional meticulous bird-and-flower painting for forty years without interruption. His bird-and-flower paintings incorporate traditional brushwork while also drawing inspiration from foreign art forms, and are based on in-depth observations of life, resulting in a large body of creative work. He has consistently sought to explore bird-and-flower paintings that are fresh, elegant, noble, and grand in momentum to celebrate the beauty of life. He has created his own distinctive artistic style, forming a unique system and demonstrating exceptional mastery, exerting a significant influence in the field of bird-and-flower painting.

As a renowned bird-and-flower painter from Henan to Guangdong, Zhou Yansheng’s works embody both the grandeur of the northern style and the delicacy of the southern style; they are rich in the essence of traditional culture as well as the artistic spirit of modern China. Therefore, a saying has spread in the Chinese art community: “Ren Hua Ying is in the north, Zhou Yansheng is in the south,” making him a unique artistic marvel in the contemporary Chinese painting world.

Liyuanzhou Village: Liyuanzhou Village is bordered by Renmin Road to the south, Weihe Road to the north, and Dahe Village to the west, covering a total area of over 400 acres. The village party branch has four members and 26 party members; the village committee has three members, the village supervision committee has three members, and there are a total of 230 households with 960 registered villagers, all of whom enjoy village resident benefits. Liyuanzhou Village was originally known as the “grape village” of the subdistrict.
