The Penghu National Scenic Area Administration is promoting the “Xiyu Dongtai Military Historical Site Park” and has invited former servicemen who were stationed at Xiyu Dongchang and Dongtai Barracks to return to the area and share their stories. They will recount acts of bravery and everyday moments from their military lives, offering visitors a chance to experience the nostalgic military atmosphere of those bygone days.

The “Xiyu Dongtai Military Historical Site Park” includes Dongchang, Dongtai, and the Hupen troops. In addition to the national historic site “Xiyu Dongtai,” the Dongchang Barracks area features a seaside walking trail that connects to the left side of Xiyu Dong Fortress, offering views of the scenic coastline at Fengkengkou. The area is shaded by dense trees whose leaves sway gently in the wind, creating a uniquely serene military fortress vibe. The Dong Fortress, which belonged to the Hupen troops, has stairway tunnels leading to the 5T warship artillery. The Penghu Administration has developed, restored, and organized these historically and militarily significant facilities. It has also invited veterans who were once stationed here to get in touch, so they can revisit their old posts with fellow soldiers when the site opens.
