The “2012 Tainan Guanziling Hot Spring Music Festival” officially begins this Saturday (the 10th). Tainan City Mayor Lai Qingde stated that all 29 hot spring businesses in Guanziling have obtained the official hot spring certification. This year’s hot spring festival not only features musical performances, but also showcases a variety of local agricultural specialties such as Dongshan coffee, i* citrus, and longan. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the hot springs, sip coffee, appreciate music, and savor delicious food in Guanziling.

There are currently about 700 hot spring businesses nationwide, but only 121 have obtained the official hot spring certification. Tainan Guanziling is famous for its mud hot springs, and all 29 hot spring businesses in the area have received the “Hot Spring Certification,” accounting for one quarter of the 121 certified businesses across 18 hot spring areas nationwide. This year’s Tainan Guanziling Hot Spring Music Festival will run until January 6, 2013. During the two-month event, in addition to soaking in hot springs, enjoying music, and tasting delicious food, there will also be a Guanziling vintage photo exhibition retracing the area’s changes over the past century and capturing moments in time. On weekends, there will be sales of local agricultural products and various promotional offers, as well as an “Ancient Path Exploration – Searching for the Fire God King” challenge game and lucky draws for tablets and smartphones.
