The Penghu authorities have issued a call inviting veterans from the Xiyu Dongchang and Dongtai military camps to share their stories.

The Penghu National Scenic Area Administration is promoting the "Xiyu Dongtai Military Historical Site Park" and has invited former servicemen who were stationed at the Xiyu Dongchang and Dongtai camps to return to the area to share their stories, recounting their valiant exploits and everyday military life, giving visitors a taste of the nostalgic military atmosphere of those bygone soldiering days.

The "Xiyu Dongtai Military Historical Site Park" includes the Dongchang, Dongtai, and Huben troops. In addition to the national historic site "Xiyu Dongtai," the Dongchang camp features a seaside promenade that connects to the left toward the Xiyu East Fortress, offering views of the scenic beauty of the Fengkengkou coastline. The shaded, tree-lined paths sway gently in the breeze, exuding a unique leisurely vibe of a fortified military post. The Dongtai fortress under the Huben troops includes a stairway tunnel leading to the 5T warship cannon. The Penghu Administration has developed, constructed, and renovated these historically and militarily valuable facilities. It has also reached out to veterans who were once stationed here, inviting them to revisit their old posts when the site opens, reconnecting with fellow soldiers.
