The Guanziling Mud Hot Spring Festival kicks off with two months of celebratory events

The “2012 Tainan Guanziling Hot Spring Music Festival” officially begins this Saturday (the 10th). Tainan City Mayor Lai Qingde stated that all 29 hot spring businesses in Guanziling have obtained hot spring certification. During this year’s hot spring season, there will not only be musical performances, but also exhibitions and sales of many local agricultural specialties such as Dongshan coffee, i*mandarins, and longan. The public is welcome to come to Guanziling to soak in great hot springs, enjoy coffee, listen to music, and savor delicious food.

Nationwide, there are approximately 700 hot spring businesses, but only 121 have obtained hot spring certification. Guanziling in Tainan is famous for its mud hot springs, and all 29 hot spring businesses in the area have obtained the “Hot Spring Certification,” accounting for one quarter of the 121 certified businesses across 18 hot spring areas in the country. This year’s Tainan Guanziling Hot Spring Music Festival will run until January 6, 2013. During the two-month event, in addition to soaking in great hot springs, enjoying good music, and tasting delicious food, there will also be a Guanziling old photo exhibition, retracing 100 years of changes and moments in time. On weekends, there will be exhibitions and sales of various local agricultural products, along with numerous special offers. Additionally, there will be a “Tracking the Ancient Path – Searching for the Fire God King” challenge game, as well as lucky draws for tablets and smartphones.
