Since launching its Taipei–Bangkok route at the end of 2015, Cool Bird Airlines is recruiting flight attendants in Taiwan for the first time this year and is offering a high salary of 75,000 Thai baht per month (approximately 73,140 New Taiwan dollars), which is significantly higher than the around 50,000 NT dollars typically offered by budget airlines. As a result, nearly 500 people applied, with only an estimated 10 to 15 expected to successfully pass the selection process, giving an acceptance rate of only about 2–3%.

After the initial screening, Cool Bird shortlisted 99 applicants to participate in today's (January 7) second round of interviews. Compared to traditional airlines' standardized attire of "headscarf, white shirt, black skirt," Cool Bird invited applicants to wear "the most suitable outfit" for the interview, so many came dressed in cocktail dresses, one-pieces, pantsuits, and some even intentionally wore company-color outfits in hopes of making a strong impression on the judges.

The applicants came from a variety of professional backgrounds, including secretaries, translators, administrative staff in the semiconductor industry, and hotel front desk workers. Xu Churong, a Korean currently living in Bangkok, also made a special trip from Thailand to Taipei and wore a black-and-yellow Cool Bird corporate color suit to the interview. Xu said she had dreamed of becoming a flight attendant, and since Cool Bird has no nationality restrictions, she came to Taiwan specifically to pursue her dream. She also noted that having studied in Taiwan previously, she is proficient in Chinese, Korean, English, and Thai.

Guo Yuanshen, who previously worked as a flight attendant for a Hong Kong-based airline for over three years, said she loves Bangkok’s relaxed and friendly environment, and with Cool Bird offering a salary 10,000 to 20,000 NT dollars higher than other airlines, she decided to apply again.
