The clothes look like they’re floating — Pingtung debuts Taiwan’s first 3D painted rice field featuring Pili puppets, with Shi Wenshan as the star

Pingtung has unveiled another new painted rice field, officially opening today (30th) at the Pingtung Tropical Agriculture Expo. Featuring 3D Pili puppet totems, the artwork showcases intricate facial expressions and the dynamic movement of flowing garments on the rice paddies, instantly attracting crowds for viewing and discussion.

Taiwan’s largest and first non-Q-version 3D Pili puppet totem painted rice field was planted over a month ago, with the characters Yeh Chien-shu and Shi Wenshan as the main subjects. Using four colors — purple, white, yellow, and green — the design depicts agile and expressive movements of the puppet characters, making it the hottest tourist attraction in Pingtung during the Lunar New Year. There will also be elevated platforms available for visitors to take photos.

In addition to the rice field landscape, the Pingtung Tropical Agriculture Expo also features Taiwan’s longest 800-meter green fruit and vegetable corridor, as well as a 3D hill-style flower sea. The 30-day event is free of charge. The expo park spans 27 hectares and is divided into 12 zones. Interested travelers can check it out.
