Heilongshan Forest Park

Heilongshan Forest Park is located in the Heilongshan Forest Farm, Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. The park covers a total area of 7,034.4 hectares. It includes three scenic areas: the Heihe River Source Scenic Area (2,688.3 hectares), the Donghouding Scenic Area (1,432.0 hectares), and the Xiangshui Valley Scenic Area (2,914.1 hectares). Its geographic coordinates are between 116°00′37″ and 116°11′30″ east longitude, and 41°17′04″ and 41°22′14″ north latitude.

The park is situated directly north of Beijing, just one mountain range away from Yanqing, approximately 240 kilometers from the city. It is one of the closest pristine forest parks to Beijing and serves as a vast natural green oxygen bar.

The park is the source of the Heihe River, featuring hundreds of springs. Each scenic area has streams that converge to form the Heihe River. The river stretches a total length of 105.7 kilometers, with a drainage area of 1,514 square kilometers and an average annual flow rate of 3.9 cubic meters per second. Within the park, the river spans 10.2 kilometers, reaching a maximum width of 25 meters, an average depth of 0.3 meters, and a flow speed of 0.5 meters per second.
