Located in Chicheng County near Olympic Peak, just a mountain away from the Chongli Ski Resort in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, excavators roar at high speed and transport trucks kick up clouds of dust. This is the site of the New Snow Country Ski Resort, which broke ground in April this year with a total investment of 10.9 billion yuan. The ski resort is expected to complete the first phase of construction by the end of this year. Upon completion, the New Snow Country Ski Resort will become China's first international Olympic-standard intercontinental ski destination to achieve an 800-meter vertical drop within a 3,000-meter slope length.
As China's first intercontinental ski destination capable of delivering an 800-meter vertical drop over a 3,000-meter slope, the New Snow Country Ski Resort will apply for slope certification from the International Ski Federation after completing the first phase of construction by year-end. Once certified, the resort will meet the hardware standards required to host top-tier international skiing competitions, which will undoubtedly raise the overall standards of China's ski market, promote the development of the country’s ice and snow industry, and further boost the growth of skiing in China.
