Wugang Ancient Tombs Cluster

The Wugang Ancient Tombs Cluster is a cultural heritage site protected by Henan Province.

The Wugang Ancient Tombs Cluster dates back to the Warring States and Han dynasties. It is located in Wugang Village, Mangzhang Township, approximately 17 kilometers southeast of Luoshan County, adjacent to the Zhugan River to the east. The tombs are irregularly distributed across an area about 1,500 meters east-west and 1,000 meters north-south, covering roughly 15 square kilometers, with a total of 33 burial mounds. The largest tomb is known as King’s Mound.

The earthen mounds of the 33 tombs are circular in shape and vary in size. The larger ones have diameters of around 40 meters, while the smaller ones are about 20 meters. Artifacts from the Warring States period to the Han Dynasty, including pottery and bronze ware, have been discovered at the sites. Seven Chu state gold coins known as “Ying Yuan” have also been found.
