Gaodian Ancient City

Gaodian Ancient City, located in Gaodian Township, Luoshan County, Henan Province, was first built during the Spring and Autumn Period. On June 8, 2006, it was included in the fourth batch of Henan Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

Gaodian Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Luoshan County. It was established as the Gaodian Central Township in 1956, reorganized as a commune in 1961, and became a township in 1983. Located in the northwest part of the county, it is 15 kilometers from the county seat. The area lies at the triangular junction of the Shih and Huai rivers. It covers an area of 93.1 square kilometers and has a population of 38,000. The township administers 12 village committees: Gaodian, Yanhe, Wangwan, Hunan, Sihuai, Gaodao, Yufan, Sanhe, Zhongxin, Zhanghe, Chentang, and Gaomiao. The main agricultural products are rice, wheat, oil crops, and cotton, along with tung oil chestnuts, watermelons, lotus roots, and peanuts.
