Sunjiazhuang Site

The Sunjiazhuang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Chicheng County.

The Sunjiazhuang Site dates back to the late Paleolithic Age and is located 1,500 meters west of Sunjiazhuang Village, Chicheng Town, Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province.

On April 14, 2011, the Sunjiazhuang Site was designated as part of the second batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in Chicheng County.

Protected area and construction control zone: with the edge of the site as the baseline, extending 10 meters northward and 20 meters westward, eastward, and southward respectively.

Chicheng Town: Chicheng Town is the seat of the county government and the political, economic, and cultural center of the county. It borders Yangtian Township to the southeast, Dia’e Town to the southwest, Zhenningbao Township to the west, and Yunzhou Township to the north, situated at the confluence of the Baihe River and Tangquan River. National Highway 112, Provincial Highways Baoping Line and Nan’chi Line run through the town, while the Beijing-Zhangjiakou First-Class Highway and Zhang-Tang Railway pass through the town, providing convenient transportation. The town sits at an elevation of 890 meters, with an average elevation of 949 meters across the entire township. It has a temperate continental monsoon climate in the mid-temperate semi-arid zone.
