Womakeng Site

The Womakeng Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Chicheng County.

The Womakeng Site dates back to the end of the Late Paleolithic Age and is located 100 meters northwest of Womakeng Village, Chicheng Town, Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province.

On April 14, 2011, the Womakeng Site was designated as part of the second batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in Chicheng County.

Protected area and construction control zone: based on the edge of the site, it extends 10 meters southward, and 20 meters westward, eastward, and northward.

Chicheng Town: Chicheng Town is the seat of the county government and the political, economic, and cultural center of the entire county. It borders Yangtian Township to the southeast, Dia’e Town to the southwest, Zhenningbao Township to the west, and Yunzhou Township to the north. Located at the confluence of the Baihe River and Tangquan River, the town is traversed by National Highway 112, Provincial Highways Baoping Line and Nanchi Line. The Beijing-Zhangjiakou Expressway and Zhang-Tang Railway also pass through the town, providing convenient transportation. The elevation of the town center is 890 meters, and the average elevation across the town is 949 meters.
