Tai Xu Temple Tai Xu Temple is located in Dongge Village, Dalian Township, three kilometers east of the county town. According to historical records, Huaiyang Tai Xu Temple (Dongge Temple) was first built in the early Ming Dynasty and has a history of over 600 years. The deities worshipped here are traditional Chinese gods, including the Jade Emperor, Fuxi the Human Ancestor, Lady Baiyu, and the Ten Yama Kings, totaling 72 deities. The temple complex covers an area of over 10,000 square meters and includes the Main Hall (Jade Emperor), the Second Hall (Taihao Fuxi), the Rear Tower (Lady Baiyu), East and West Corridors, the Underworld, and the Ten Yama Kings, with all major deities represented. On the first and fifteenth days of each lunar month, worshippers from near and far come to burn incense, pray, make wishes for fertility, disaster relief, wealth, and peace. A popular local saying goes: “Once you enter Dongge Temple (Tai Xu Temple), even the unfilial become filial for three years.” Visitors to Tai Xu Temple often gain a profound lesson in traditional morality.

In recent years, with the deepening of reform and opening-up and the government’s increased emphasis on cultural heritage and historic preservation, entrepreneur Shi Shuting invested over 3 million yuan to rebuild Tai Xu Temple in order to develop local tourism and meet the cultural needs of the public. Tai Xu Temple now stands majestic, with grand halls, exquisitely carved beams and painted rafters, vividly depicted deities, and an awe-inspiring atmosphere. It is an excellent destination for sightseeing and spiritual worship.
