Hebei-Shandong-Henan Revolutionary Memorial Hall

The Hebei-Shandong-Henan Revolutionary Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Hebei-Shandong-Henan Border Region Memorial Hall in Fan County, Puyang — a patriotic education base in Henan Province — was completed in May 2013. Covering an area of 120 mu with a construction area of 3,500 square meters, it is divided into six exhibition halls: “Preface Hall,” “Flickers of Fire in the Dark Night,” “The Grand Chorus of the War of Resistance,” “Fierce Battles on the Plains,” “Martyrs and Veterans,” and “Leaders’ Concern.”

Preface Hall: A large thematic sculpture that depicts revolutionary martyrs embarking on the great journey of carrying the revolution through to the end.

First Exhibition Hall: “Flickers of Fire in the Dark Night.” It showcases the establishment of Party organizations in the border region of Hebei, Shandong, and Henan, leading the masses in labor, peasant, student, and anti-Japanese salvation movements, strengthening revolutionary forces, and laying the foundation for the creation of the Hebei-Shandong-Henan Anti-Japanese Base Area.

Second Exhibition Hall: “The Grand Chorus of the War of Resistance.” It displays how the Party organizations in the border region led the people in fighting bloody battles alongside the Eighth Route Army against the Japanese invaders, opening up and developing the Hebei-Shandong-Henan Anti-Japanese Base Area.

Third Exhibition Hall: “Fierce Battles on the Plains.” It illustrates how, after the outbreak of the civil war, the people of the liberated areas such as Fan County actively joined the military and the war effort, supported the Liu-Deng Army in crossing the Yellow River, vigorously developed production, and made tremendous contributions to the victory of the Liberation War.

Fourth Exhibition Hall: “Martyrs and Veterans.” It highlights the heroic deeds of veteran generals, marshals, and martyrs who once worked, fought, lived, or inspected in Fan County.

Final Exhibition Hall: “Leaders’ Concern.” It shows how, after the founding of New China, the Party and government have consistently paid attention to the people of the old revolutionary base areas who made significant contributions to the Chinese revolution, and cared about the development of various undertakings in Fan County.

Since its completion, the memorial hall has received over 50,000 visitors and has become an important site for Party members, cadres, and the public to receive red integrity education and temper their party spirit. (Puyang Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection)
