The Firefly Cave Scenic Area (formerly known as Yishui Underground Fluorescent Lake) is situated 19 kilometers south of Yishui County at the base of Shimii Mountain. It is a famous mysterious underground world of fireflies. The cave, formed around 65 million to 230 million years ago, extends 1,200 meters in length. Not only does it feature numerous stalactites and unusual rock formations, but it is also home to a species of firefly that lives exclusively in damp, dark caves. These fireflies cover the cave ceiling like twinkling stars on a clear night, dotting the expanse in their thousands, creating a magical spectacle.

The scenic area offers a comprehensive tourism experience combining leisure, recreation, entertainment, vacationing, and cave exploration with firefly viewing. Visitors enter the dark cave and board a small boat guided by ropes, gliding through the water until they suddenly emerge into a vast chamber glittering with what appears to be a starry sky, as if entering a fairy tale world. Thousands of fireflies cling to the cave walls, resembling countless sparkling lights flickering across the domed ceiling, densely clustered into a brilliant, velvety starry expanse. The overhead fireflies look like an exquisitely ornate diamond necklace or an ever-changing mysterious night sky, forming a unique natural wonder of the Yimeng region. Price Description: Firefly Cave + Shandong Underground Grand Canyon Combo Ticket: 168 RMB per person. Tickets are valid for the day only; re-entry requires repurchasing.

Ticket Discount Policy: Children under 1.2 meters are admitted free; seniors over 70, journalists, and others with valid ID are exempt from admission fees (insurance fee of 10 RMB per person required). Children between 1.2–1.5 meters receive a 50% discount; seniors aged 60–69 receive a 50% discount with valid ID; active-duty military personnel and disabled revolutionary soldiers enjoy a 50% discount with valid ID.
