Guziding Site

Gūzǐdǐng Yízhǐ

The Guziding Site is a Shandong Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.

Gūzǐdǐng Yízhǐ: Located about one kilometer south of Hejiazhuangzi Village in Fuguangzhuang Town, this is a high-platform site elevated approximately 3–5 meters above the ground, with a cultural deposit thickness of about 1–3 meters. Excavated artifacts include stone axes, stone knives, stone adzes, stone arrowheads, as well as pottery fragments of sandy ware, and vessels such as ding (tripod cauldrons), gui (tripod ewers), basins, along with dou (bean pots), jars, li (tripod cooking vessels), and hu (narrow-necked vessels). In earlier years, a Han Dynasty bronze pot was unearthed here, and in the 1990s, an Eastern Han Dynasty ironware hoard was discovered, yielding objects such as iron ding, iron mattocks, and plowshares. Through comprehensive classification and research of the numerous unearthed relics, the site has been determined to contain remains dating from the Neolithic Longshan Culture, followed by the Shang and Zhou periods — the richest cultural deposits from this era — and later, Han Dynasty remains. The site spans a long time period from the Neolithic Age through the Shang, Zhou, and Han Dynasties, indicating continuous human habitation across these eras.

On December 7, 2006, the Guziding Site was designated as part of the third batch of Shandong Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.
