Liujiadianzi Site

The Liujiadianzi Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Liujiadianzi Site is located in Liujiadianzi Village, Yuandongtou Town, Yishui County, dating back to the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, and is classified as an ancient site.

In the winter of 1977, during earth excavation west of the village, two tombs and a chariot-and-horse pit were discovered, yielding a collection of bronze ritual and musical instruments as well as chariot and horse fittings. In February 1978, the Shandong Provincial Museum and the Yishui County Library cleared the tombs and the chariot-and-horse pit. Tomb No. 1 yielded a pair of Huang Taizi Boke basins, which are believed to date to the middle Spring and Autumn period. Tomb No. 2 and its chariot-and-horse pit are thought to date to the middle and late middle Spring and Autumn period. Over 470 pieces of bronzeware, pottery, goldware, and other artifacts were unearthed from the tombs, placed both inside the chambers and coffins, as well as in the fill soil of the north-south artifact storage areas, with more than half of them being fragmented.

The Liujiadianzi Site is among the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.

Yuandongtou Town: Located 25 kilometers southwest of Yishui County, Yuandongtou Town is the hometown of Hong Sao Zu Xiu Lian. It borders Yao Dianzi Town to the east, Xiawu Town to the west, Yinan County to the south, and Huangshapu Town and Cuijiayu Town to the north. Covering a total area of 160,000 mu, it has 32,000 mu of arable land and 74,000 mu of forested land. The town administers 43 administrative villages, 124 natural villages, 8,900 households, and a population of 30,000. It has 1,449 Party members, including 142 veteran Party members who joined before the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
