The Upper Xiaozhuang Cliff Carvings are located in Upper Xiaozhuang Village, Yuandongtou Town, Yishui County. Dating from the modern era, they are categorized as representative structures of important modern historical sites.

The Upper Xiaozhuang Cliff Carvings are among the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units.

Yuandongtou Town: Yuandongtou Town is situated 25 kilometers southwest of Yishui County and is the hometown of Grandma Hong, Zu Xiujuan. It borders Yao Dianzi Town to the east, connects with Xiawei Town to the west, neighbors Yinan County to the south, and lies adjacent to Huangshapu Town and Cuijiayu Town to the north. Covering a total area of 160,000 mu, it includes 32,000 mu of arable land and 74,000 mu of forested land. The town administers 43 administrative villages, 124 natural villages, has 8,900 households, and a population of 30,000. There are 1,449 Party members, including 142 who joined before the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
