The Dongying Archives Patriotic Education Base is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Dongying Archives Patriotic Education Base is a directly affiliated public institution at the county level under the municipal Party committee. Established in 1985, its exhibition center was built and put into use in 2018 with an investment of over 10 million yuan. In the past three years, it has organized relevant thematic exhibitions such as “Glorious Journey — Achievements of the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening Up and the 35th Anniversary of the City’s Founding,” “Memories of Dongying,” “Deed Documents Exhibition,” and “Stay True to the Mission — Educational Exhibition on the Theme of Remembering the Original Aspiration,” attracting over 20,000 visitors.

The Dongying Archives serves as a patriotic education base, a social science education and practice base, and an educational practice base for primary and secondary school students in Dongying. It is the main repository of historical materials in the city, rich in historical and cultural significance. In recent years, the Dongying Archives has successively organized thematic exhibitions such as “Glorious Journey — The 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and the Local Party History Exhibition of Dongying,” “Forever Follow the Party — Educational Exhibition on the 'Two Studies, One Action' Campaign,” “Eternal Monument — Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Long March,” “The Red Star Over China — The CPC Through Foreign Eyes,” “Glorious Journey — Achievements of the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening Up and the 35th Anniversary of the City’s Founding,” “Memories of Dongying,” “Deed Documents Exhibition,” and “Stay True to the Mission — Educational Exhibition on the Theme of Remembering the Original Aspiration.” These exhibitions offer abundant resources and diverse formats, featuring a strong archival cultural identity that organically integrates historical culture with archival materials, forming a distinctive archival cultural character.

The Dongying Archives employs a variety of exhibition methods, making full use of multimedia and other means to comprehensively and multi-dimensionally showcase the city’s historical and cultural heritage. It features cultural relics reflecting Dongying’s history, original archival materials, photographs, and certificates, as well as modern display techniques such as touchscreens, VR, large screens, and robotic guides to engage visitors’ interest.
