The "Greater Xinying Area," with its picturesque rural scenery, boasts a diverse range of industries. For instance, its orchid industry, which has strong export competitiveness, holds a notable position in the international market. The region also produces abundant local goods such as rice, lotus seeds, coffee, and livestock, earning it the title of Taiwan's largest grain barn. Traditional cuisine made with local ingredients offers travelers unforgettable flavors of olden times. Whether it’s the pastoral landscapes, the textures of old houses, or the simple yet hearty food, these seemingly ordinary aspects of rural life inadvertently paint a moving picture of countryside charm.

The Tourism Bureau stated that the second edition of the Tainan regional map foldout focuses on the "Greater Xinying Area" — including Yanshui, Xinying, Liuying, Houpi, Baihe, Dongshan, plus the "Xiaying District," covering a total of seven administrative regions. The design was created by freelance illustrator {Cat. Indeed As It Is}, who used rendering and layering techniques to present a delicate, soft watercolor style, conveying her impression of Tainan. This warm artistic approach resonates deeply with urban dwellers longing for rural life and offers a soothing, therapeutic effect.
Apart from her self-published illustrated books, illustrator {Cat. Indeed As It Is}, whose works can also be found in various magazines and publications, has been documenting Taiwan’s landscapes through her brush since 2006. Through a method of writing to reflect and drawing to communicate, she captures every travel moment, infusing daily life with small joys using the warmth of her hands. This time, with her refreshing art style, she draws readers into her view of this natural rural art gallery and lets them feel the artistic healing atmosphere within.

The second illustrator-drawn map foldout, "Flower Sea Journey," has been available for free distribution since Thursday, June 2. The public is welcome to visit any of Tainan’s tourism service centers, Yonghua and Minzhi Municipal Joint Service Centers, or the local government offices in the Greater Xinying Area and Xiaying District to pick one up. Supplies are limited, and the map can also be downloaded from the "Tainan Tourism Network" (http://www.twtainan.net/).
