Datun Reservoir

Datun Reservoir is a key project of China's South-to-North Water Diversion Project. It stretches from Liuwu River in the east to Limin River in the west. The designed maximum water storage level is 29.8 meters, with a corresponding maximum capacity of 52.09 million cubic meters; the dead water level is 21 meters, and the dead storage capacity is 7.45 million cubic meters; the reservoir’s regulating capacity is 44.64 million cubic meters; the total length of the dam axis is 8,913.9 meters. The reservoir serves multiple functions including water storage, water supply, flood control, and tourism. The scenic area covers over 10,000 mu, with planning centered around the canal as a link, Datun Reservoir as the core, and historical and cultural nodes such as Caotun Forest Park and Dishang Estuary forming the central tourism circle.
