Hengshui Youth Park

Youth Park is bordered by the Fuyang River to the east and connects to Hongqi Street to the west, covering a total area of 1.5 hectares. Formerly an area of dilapidated residential buildings, it has now been transformed into an irregular strip-shaped park. The park was first built in 2003 and officially opened to the public for free on May 1, 2005.

The park’s plant arrangement adopts a tree-dominated approach, combining trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers. Tall trees form the background, while lawns serve as the base. Streamlined color blocks composed of plants such as Berberis thunbergii and Ligustrum vicaryi are planted, along with species like Koelreuteria paniculata and Pistacia chinensis, which are valued for their foliage and fruit. This highlights the seasonal changes of the plants and creates a landscaped garden that “blooms in three seasons and offers scenery all year round.” Nearly 30,000 trees and shrubs, 10,000 square meters of lawn, and 4,000 square meters of paved squares and pathways have been planted and installed.

The oval flower bed at the park entrance features a stainless steel sculpture named “Return,” symbolizing “coming back.” On the south side, there are three mushroom-shaped pavilions for resting, forming a quiet rest area. On the north side, there is a relatively large square designated as a fitness activity zone.

Getting There: Within Hengshui City, take bus No. 20 and get off at “Hongqi Street & Yongxing Road Intersection Station,” then walk for 1 minute to reach the park; alternatively, take bus No. 18 or No. 5 and get off at “Home Furnishings Plaza Station,” then walk for 2 minutes to arrive.
