Muke Ruins

Muke Ruins is a cultural tourism attraction.

Muke Ruins, also known as Taizigao Ruins, is located 200 meters southwest of Taizigao Village, Dulankou Township, Chiping District, Liaocheng City. According to the Unified Gazetteer, "In the 15th year of Duke Xi of the Spring and Autumn Period, the Duke held an alliance at Muke with the lords of Qi, Song, Chen, Wei, Zheng, Xu, and Cao." The ruins form a raised platform about 2 meters above the ground, measuring 64 meters in length from east to west and 56 meters in width from north to south, covering an area of 3,584 square meters.

The entire site is well-preserved and rich in cultural content. Beneath the Han Dynasty layer lies a complete set of Longshan Culture relics. In 1976 and 1978, archaeologists conducted two excavations at the site, unearthing artifacts such as round-footed plates, gray pottery jars, basins, pots, stone knives, stone axes, clamshells, and bone needles. The pottery features common decorative patterns including rope impressions, basket weaves, string patterns, checkered designs, and applied reliefs, all of which hold significant value for studying the Neolithic culture of western Shandong. In 1980, the site was designated as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the Provincial Level in Shandong Province.
