The old stage is situated within Huangyao Ancient Town in Zhaoping County, Hezhou, Guangxi. It was first constructed in the third year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1524 AD), and is the largest and best-preserved ancient stage from the Ming Dynasty still existing in Guangxi. An inscription inside the stage reads: “The beat of gongs and drums mingles with melodious strings, creating a symphony of peace; colorful dances and lofty songs echo together, proclaiming prosperity.” This can be said to be a true reflection of Huangyao Ancient Town—visitors are encouraged to take a closer look.
