Recently, the Industry and Commerce Bureau of Zouping County, Shandong Province, conducted a special inspection on outdoor sports apparel. The inspection began on November 30 and focused on various sportswear specialty stores within the county. First, it strictly examined business qualifications. The focus was on cracking down on unlicensed business operations, rigorously inspecting whether businesses held valid licenses, and carefully verifying registered details such as business addresses and scopes. Operations without licenses or beyond approved scopes were firmly addressed. Second, it strictly investigated illegal activities. Emphasis was placed on checking the authorization and licensing status of outdoor sports brands such as JEEP, CAMEL, and THE NORTH FACE, and on cracking down on counterfeit and infringing apparel as well as false advertising. Third, it increased public awareness efforts. Leveraging the opportunity of the inspections, the bureau promoted laws and regulations such as the Trademark Law and the Anti-Unfair Competition Law, as well as clothing consumption warnings, guiding business operators to operate legally and enhancing consumers’ ability to identify counterfeits, thereby promoting scientific and civilized consumption.
As of now, a total of 4 business operators have been inspected, and 31 pieces of counterfeit outdoor sports apparel have been seized.
