Chiping Jinniu Lake Scenic Area

The Jinniu Lake Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a national water conservancy scenic area, and a national wetland park.

The Jinniu Lake Scenic Area is located in the heart of the western new urban district of Chiping, covering a total area of 5,840 mu, with a planned area of 10 square kilometers. It includes a water surface of 3,100 mu and a water storage capacity of 26 million cubic meters. Since construction began in 2012, the government has invested a special fund of 1 billion yuan. Currently, the lake-loop road is fully connected, and the construction of two large squares—the Longshan Cultural Square and the Takeoff Square—has been largely completed. The greenery on the northern mountain and around the lake covers a total area of 2 million square meters. The greening project in the Wangqiao area has been tendered, and preparatory work for construction is underway in each section. The construction of three bridges and two islands spanning east to west across the lake adds endless charm, resembling dragons lying on the water. Currently, minor decorative adjustments are being made to the twin bridges. Once completed, the Tiansuo Bridge and JiQue Bridge will have even more impressive landscape effects.

In 2014, through investment attraction, the scenic area reached a cooperation agreement with Yifeng Group, which funded the construction of an ancient-style commercial street at the foot of the southern side of Chiping Mountain. The project includes an ancient architecture cultural tourism street and the construction of the Liuhe Pagoda halfway up Chiping Mountain. In early 2015, the scenic area introduced a large-scale children’s amusement project, funded by Laiwu City Heima Amusement Development Co., Ltd. with an investment of 150 million yuan, to be built north of the Longshan Square. Currently, several entertainment facilities such as cruise boats, a beach bathing area, and a fishing center have been opened to visitors, and contracts have been signed with relevant parties. Rent is collected by the finance department and allocated uniformly.

Currently, the Jinniu Lake Scenic Area has been honored with titles such as National Water Conservancy Scenic Area, National Wetland Park, and Provincial Modern Leisure Fishery Park. In the future, we will continue to strengthen the construction of various projects and supporting facilities in the scenic area, aiming to develop Jinniu Lake into a 4A-level standard attraction.
