Temple of Lu Zhonglian

The Temple of Lu Zhonglian is a cultural tourism attraction.

A county-level cultural heritage site, located in Wangludian East Village, Fengguantun Town. Lu Zhonglian was a native of Wangludian Village, Fengguantun Town. A statesman and educator during the Warring States period, he was skilled at helping others solve problems and remained unmoved by official positions or wealth. Historical records indicate that the original Temple of Lu Zhonglian was built during the Qing Dynasty, though the exact year of construction is unknown. It fell into disrepair and was eventually destroyed. In the 1980s, villagers requested its reconstruction. The village raised part of the funds, while the National Cultural Heritage Administration, Shandong Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration, and the Chiping County Government provided grants. Construction began in April 1993. The rebuilt Memorial Temple of Lu Zhonglian consists of five antique-style rooms with a brick-and-wood structure, featuring blue bricks and glazed tubular tiles. At the center of the main hall stands a clay statue of Lu Zhonglian, and the upper level of the gatehouse is home to the Kuixing Pavilion. The temple plaque was inscribed by the former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. The Kuixing Pavilion was inscribed by the renowned painter and Vice President of the China Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Huang Zhou. Inscriptions were also contributed by the former Minister of National Defense, the former Acting Minister of Culture He Jingzhi, the former Minister Zou Yu, the Director of the National Cultural Heritage Administration Zhang Deqin, former Deputy Director Sun Tieqing, the former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Gong Dafei, the former Political Commissar of the Navy Li Yaowen, as well as famous calligraphers and painters Ouyang Zhongshi, Liu Qing, and Zhang Hu.
