Martyrs' Cemetery of Chiping County

The Martyrs' Cemetery of Chiping County is located in Tianzhuang, Zhenxing Subdistrict, Chiping County.

In May 1974, to commemorate revolutionary martyrs and strengthen revolutionary tradition education among young people, the Chiping County Revolutionary Committee established the Martyrs' Cemetery of Chiping County in Tianzhuang, Zhenxing Subdistrict (formerly Tianzhuang of Chengguan Commune). The ashes of notable martyrs from Chiping County, such as Wu Yawu and Li Yu, were transferred to the cemetery.

In 1998, the county government renovated and expanded the cemetery. The protected area of the cemetery reached 7,860 square meters, including a 568-square-meter memorial hall and a 249-square-meter office building. The cemetery is bordered by farmland to the north, residential buildings to the east and south, and a small road to the west. Inside the cemetery, there are trees such as willows and pines, as well as a small rockery. The memorial hall displays three relics and houses the ashes of 32 martyrs. Every year during the Qingming Festival, the entire county organizes commemorative activities for the martyrs.

The Martyrs' Cemetery of Chiping County serves as a base for revolutionary tradition education in the county. Many government agencies and enterprises frequently organize party members and aspiring party members to visit the cemetery for activities such as renewing their oath of party membership and taking the party admission oath.
