Heze Golden Mountain is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Golden Mountain is a renowned historical and cultural mountain, belonging to the extension of Mount Tai. It is said to be one of the “Three Sister Mountains” along with Mount Tai and Mount Yi, and lies on the golden tourism route of “Mountains, Waters, and Sages” in Qilu.

Golden Mountain has a long history and beautiful scenery, with blooming flowers in spring, pleasant pine waves in summer, fragrant peonies in golden autumn, and snow-covered branches in deep winter. Numerous natural caves such as the Qilin Cave, Dragon Tiger Cave, Golden Ox Cave, and Jade Rabbit Cave complement various springs like the Madonna Spring and Divine Water Spring. Among the Eight Scenic Spots of Juye, “Golden Scroll Dawn” and “Mist and Clouds over Qin Cave” both originate from the abandoned cliff tombs of Liu He, the King of Changyi during the Han Dynasty, later known as the Qin King’s Summer Retreat Cave. During that time, the Liu-Deng Army commanded the famous Battle of Yangshan from this cave. In the third year of the Dading era of the Jin Dynasty, the emperor bestowed the title of Great Ming Chan Monastery upon this cave. Throughout history, literati and scholars have left behind a wealth of precious poems and calligraphy on the cliffs, forming a magnificent tapestry of ancient and historical charm across the Qilu region. A Taoist temple originally built during the Tang Dynasty (6th year of Kaihuang, 592 AD) has been restored at the summit of North Mountain, creating a religious layout of Buddhism in the south and Taoism in the north, showcasing the splendid religious culture of Golden Mountain.

Golden Mountain has been an ideal sacred site meticulously developed by religious figures throughout the ages, as well as a strategic battleground hotly contested in history.

The Golden Mountain Tourist Area has restored major ancient architectural complexes such as the Chinese Taoist Temple and Golden Mountain Temple, while preserving historical landscapes. Attractions such as the Golden Mountain Water City, Fishing Pond, Liberation Pond, Sun-Moon Spring, Ethnic Culture Park, Tourist Pool, Jade Pool, Wild Peony Area, and Qilin Culture Park further enrich the tourism offerings of Golden Mountain. It has now become a comprehensive tourist destination integrating leisure, entertainment, and vacation.
