On October 30, 2013, a grand “Japan Hokuriku & Chubu Region Tourism Promotion Event” was held at Beijing’s Jinglun Hotel. The event was officially attended by a visiting delegation from Japan's Chubu Wide-Area Tourism Promotion Council, led by the Governor of Nagano Prefecture. The delegation included representatives from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Hokuriku-Shinetsu Transport Bureau, the Chubu Transport Bureau, as well as local government officials from Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui, Nagano, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi, Mie, and Shiga prefectures, along with representatives from Nagoya City, Hamamatsu City, and Shima City. Also present were delegates from Chubu Centrair International Airport and tourism-related businesses such as travel agencies. The delegation visited Beijing to introduce the safety and appealing tourism resources of the Chubu region to industry professionals, and to engage in discussions and networking activities.
This tourism promotion event aimed to showcase the charm of Japan’s Chubu and Hokuriku regions. The Hokuriku & Chubu area boasts abundant tourism resources, including famous hot spring resorts, as well as majestic natural landscapes such as Mount Fuji, Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, and Kamikōchi. It is also home to World Heritage Sites such as Shirakawa-go & Gokayama’s Traditional Gassho Villages and the Kumano Kodo. Additionally, there are opportunities for industrial tourism, including visits to advanced technology facilities, notably in the automobile manufacturing industry.
Thanks to this promotional event and the efforts of various stakeholders, it is believed that in the near future, more tourists will visit the Hokuriku & Chubu region of Japan for travel.
