Heze Jinshan Grand Cave

Jinshan, "named for the gold discovered when cutting the stone," is located 23 kilometers southeast of Juye County. It lies to the south against Yuliang Mountain (Red Earth Mountain), with Gaoping Mountain to the east, Baima Mountain to the north, and plains to the west. The mountain stretches 1.5 kilometers from north to south and 1 kilometer from east to west, with an elevation of 133 meters.

Originally, there were more than 20 ancient structures on Jinshan, and in the 40th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty, large-scale construction was undertaken, “entirely modeled after the layout of Mount Tai,” to rebuild Jinshan. That is, the architectural layout was designed in imitation of that of Mount Tai, including structures such as the Little Red Gate, Middle Heaven Gate, Little Heavenly Street, South Heaven Gate, Queen Mother’s Pavilion, Bixia Yuanjun Palace, Three Saints Hall, Wenchang Pavilion, Shennong Shrine, Farming View Pavilion, Ox King Temple, as well as the Earth God Temple, Ying Pavilion, Kuixing Tower, and Theater Stage. In recent years, additional attractions such as the Jade Rabbit Cave, Child-Praying Cave, and Golden Ox Cave have been constructed.
