The Fu Miao Ancient Residences are a protected cultural heritage site of Shandong Province.

Fu Miao Village is located in Hetaoyuan Town, Juye County. The Fu Miao Ancient Residences consist of several traditional courtyard complexes built in the distinctive architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Covering an area of over 3,600 square meters, there are currently 13 buildings with more than 50 rooms, situated on the north side of the village’s central street. Most of the courtyards have single-eave gable roofs and reverse-facing wing rooms. Each complex typically has three three-room side rooms on the east and west sides — some with double-beam structures, others featuring a room with upturned eaves and decorative ridge ornaments. The main houses all face south, each with three bays, built with blue bricks and topped with gray tiles. Construction styles vary — some are single-eave gable-roofed flush-gable buildings, while others are two-story structures. Despite their age, and although some buildings have deteriorated over time, most retain their original beam frameworks and architectural character.

The Fu Miao Ancient Residences feature simple yet classic designs, rigorous structures, and rational layouts. Local lore claims they were once the private residence of Zhang Juzheng, a grand secretary of the Ming Dynasty. Although no written records confirm this, the entire complex exhibits clear architectural styles from the Ming and Qing periods, making it highly valuable for development and research purposes. It also provides detailed insights for Hetaoyuan Town in preserving and utilizing local cultural relics, natural landscapes, and humanistic sites to develop tourism resources.
