Zhanglou Gudui Site

The Zhanglou Gudui Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Shandong Province.

The Zhanglou Gudui Site is located in Dayi Town, Juye County, dating back to the Neolithic Age, Shang, Zhou, and Han dynasties.

On June 23, 2015, the Zhanglou Gudui Site was designated as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.

Dayi Town: Dayi Town in Juye County is situated 12 kilometers south of the county seat and lies at the center of the entire county. It covers a total area of 108 square kilometers, governs 68 administrative villages, has 109,000 mu of arable land, and a population of 72,000. Within the town, the Liaoshang Highway runs north-south, while the Qinglong Highway stretches east-west. To the east, it faces the scenic Mount Jinshan; to the north, it borders the Zhushui River, and to the south, it lies near the Wanfu River. During the Yuan Dynasty’s Zhizheng era, Hao Yu, the 53rd-generation descendant of Confucius, built the “Chunqiu Academy” here, which was later renamed the “Dayi Academy.” By the second year of the Ming Dynasty’s Hongwu era, families surnamed Lu, Qi, Chen, and Tao settled here successively, naming the village Dayi.
