Yuncheng County Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery

Yuncheng County Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery was established in 1959. It is located on the east bank of the Songjiang River in the eastern part of the county town, covering an area of 36,000 square meters. The main memorial facilities include the "Former Site of the Command Headquarters of the Southwest Shandong Campaign" spanning 7,000 square meters, the "Exhibition Hall for the Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activities" covering 800 square meters, a group sculpture commemorating the Southwest Shandong Campaign, four individualized stone sculptures of famous martyrs, a 30-meter-high Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument, two Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Pavilions, three Martyrs' Memorial Monuments, a 4,700-square-meter Hero Memorial Plaza, a National Defense Education Area, a 6,000-square-meter Martyrs' Cemetery Area, and a 6,000-square-meter Landscape Greening Area, among others.

As a revolutionary base area and the command center of the Southwest Shandong Campaign, Yuncheng is rich in red patriotic education resources and serves as an important site for revolutionary tradition education and national defense patriotism education. In recent years, Yuncheng County has made active efforts in the construction, management, and educational utilization of the martyrs' cemetery base. With strong support from higher-level authorities and all sectors of society, it has attracted a large number of visitors, especially young students, who come to pay tribute to the heroic deeds and great achievements of the revolutionary martyrs. This has deepened their understanding of how, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the military and civilians united as one, fought bravely with successive waves of sacrifice, and established the socialist New China through bloody struggle.
