Heze Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area

The Heze Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Shandong Heze Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located along the Yellow River from the Gaocun management section in Dongming County to the Dongkou management section in Juancheng County. Built along the Yellow River embankment, the scenic area spans a planned area of 100 square kilometers.

In addition to viewing the world-famous "suspended river" section, the scenic area also features the "secondary suspended river," characterized by "high channel, low floodplain, low embankment base, and even lower areas beyond the embankment." The Heze Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is divided into "one belt and three zones": namely, the hundred-mile Yellow River scenic belt from Gaocun in Dongming to Dongkou in Juancheng, the Gaocun Historical and Cultural Park, the Liuzhuang Water Conservancy Sightseeing and Leisure Zone, and the Juancheng Water Conservancy Sightseeing and Leisure Zone. Vast Yellow River floodplains complement well-planned greenbelt forests, creating a stunning riverside landscape. The scenic area's water conservancy projects include 50 kilometers of the Linhuang Embankment, three dangerous work sections, three control and guidance projects, as well as three Yellow River water diversion sluices. These engineering works, together with the natural scenery, form a unique scenic route. Historical and cultural sites such as the Yellow River Gaocun Emergency Rescue Monument, Zhuangzi Temple, and Zhuangzi Fishing Platform further enrich the content of the scenic area.
